In the context of the implementation of the European project Interreg FAME Road in which the Municipality of Aigialeia participates as a partner, a Traditional Food Competition was held on Sunday, October 10, at the Liopetro estate.
The event was presented by the executive chef and President of the Chefs Club of Peloponnese and Western Greece Mr. Thomas Lazanas, who was also a member of the jury along with Mr. Giuseppe Ceglie, also executive chef, and the deputy mayor of tourism and restaurant businessman Mr. Stratos Vardakis. Also, Mr George Terezakis executive chef acted as a supervisor of the competition.
The contestants were invited to create dishes inspired by Greek and Italian cuisine using local products, as the aim of the competition was to highlight and promote Greek and Italian recipes and flavors.
The winner of the Competition was Mrs. Athena Theodorakopoulou who was awarded an honorary plaque, while all the contestants were given a souvenir by the Municipality of Aigialeia. Many thanks to the other participants Mrs Ourania Kouri and Mr. Panayiotis Mylonas for their inspird dishes.
