In the framework of the European project “F.A.M.E. ROAD” in which the Municipality of Aigialeia participates as a partner, the opening of the Ceramic Art Exhibition was held on Saturday, October 9th, 2021, in Panagiotopoulos Mansion in Aigio.
The event was greeted by the Deputy Mayor Mr. Vasilis G. Christopoulos while Mrs. Anastasia Gadolou, Head of the Department of Prehistoric and Classical Archaeological Sites, Monuments and Archaeological Works of the Ministry of Culture and Sports was also present.
Mrs. Gadolou, with her presentation “The contribution of modern ceramics in the understanding of the techniques of making ancient clay works of art. Dummy roof model with figurative decoration of the 8th c. BC, from the Sanctuary of Elikonios Poseidon in Nikoleika Aigialeia”, presented findings from the excavations in the area as well as their connection with modern ceramic art.
The members of the “Cerameon Traces” Group, which was created in Patras in 2011 with the aim of highlighting and promoting Contemporary Greek Ceramic Art, will participate in the exhibition with their creations.
“Cerameon Traces” Group consists of the ceramists: Vassilios Anastasopoulos, Charoula Koropouli, Marilena Livieratou, Vassilis Papaioannou, Elias Christopoulos.
The exhibition will be hosted on the ground floor of the Panagiotopoulos Mansion until October 24 and will be open daily 10.00 – 14.00 and 18.00 –21.00.
